Save the Boleyn Tavern
There is a strong possibility that the Boleyn might close after the move to Stratford as it is heavily reliant on match day revenue.

Once it’s gone, it’s gone. It will be turned into flats or a Tesco with all the history ripped out and thrown in the skip.

I’m trying to get it listed as an Asset of Community Value. Achieving ACV status would give it a bit of extra protection from developers as they would have to put in a planning application for change of use and leave it open to objection.

I need 27 signatures of people who live in the borough or an adjacent borough and who are on the register of electorates.

You can either sign this petition, and include your address, or if you feel more secure you can PM me your details.

I’m trying to do something similar for the Earl of Essex on the Romford Road, so let me know if you are willing to put your name to that as well. Again, you need to live in Newham or an adjacent borough.

Thanks everyone.

No one wants to live there.

No one wants to drink there.

Everyone wants to dictate to those that do what should happen.

Classic WHO.

Earl of Essex has been empty for years.

In the end days it wants Far Cough types and Asian pool players in there.

Shame.

At least the Rising Sun is still going even though the cats in there spread fleas. Have done for years.

What community value would a pub have, when most of the local community are Muslims?
It'll go the same way as a lot of others, including The Spotted Dog, where I had my first pint.

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
If it gets through a few years (which will be tough) then the new development will be finished and different demographic of people will move in.. which is happening already as people wanna buy anywhere in London. Those people like nice pubs..

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
Earl of Essex is also Grade II listed.

I live a couple of streets down.

No one drank there.

No one will until the hipsters move in.

Until then the building will be fine just like the Boleyn.

This is not really that hard.

I used to love the Green Man in Plashet Grove, but that shut down. Then the Wakefield, that shut down. Victoria Tavern I'd still going strong though, thank God.

Should be a restaurant

Be careful not to fuck up the planning for someone, because it could just become a mosque

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
Time moves on, the area dosen't need pubs now.

The vast majority of the posters here will never go to that area again once we move to stratford maybe go through it on the district line but that's it.

I'm coming home from America early september for a couple of days and will pop up to see my Aunt who lives in Plaistow but she's moving and that's the last of us gone from East London.

Weird they'll be no reason to go there anymore but that's that.

It's a Grade II listed building.

Won't survive as a pub. Will sit empty or change of use.

Re: Save the Boleyn Tavern
There is no use for it after the club moves

It's in a Islamic state
